Darden faculty on change, communication, and strengths
Sessions on change management, communicating organizational goals, and understanding your personal strengths as a leader give you the frameworks to guide a team through growth.

UVA Darden School of Business· Executive Education
A five-day program where every lesson in the classroom gets tested in the boat. Build teams that pull together, coach instead of direct, and carry change through your organization.
The program
Leading Teams for Growth and Change is built for leaders who need their teams to function, collaborate, and innovate. You'll learn the theory with Darden, then put it under load in a racing shell.

In the classroom
Sessions on change management, communicating organizational goals, and understanding your personal strengths as a leader give you the frameworks to guide a team through growth.

On the water
Each day you row with your cohort under Olympian Dan Lyons and his coaching team. Eight people, one rhythm: the boat shows instantly whether a team is truly aligned. No rowing experience is required.
What you'll learn
Catch
Shift from giving orders to developing people, so the team owns the work instead of waiting for instructions.
Drive
Translate organizational strategy into a clear, shared target that every seat in the boat can pull toward.
Finish
Apply change-management frameworks to keep momentum when priorities, people, or markets shift.
Recovery
Create the trust and psychological space a team needs to experiment, reset, and come back stronger.
Who should attend
No. The coaching team teaches sweep rowing from the ground up, and the exercises are designed for participants who have never been in a boat.
Olympic rower Dan Lyons and his coaching team lead the daily sessions on the Rivanna River.
Tuition is $11,500. See Darden Executive Education for current details on what is included.
